How is the test performed? What does it require?

Our patients describe testing at Rume as fast, easy, and convenient! Most of our tests require either a cheek, nasal swab, or throat. A small number of tests require blood from a finger prick.

What happens if I miss my appointment?

Not a problem. If you’ve already paid for your test, but you missed your appointment time–for any reason–you can still get tested. Simply show up to the testing site when you can and we’ll be ready to check you in and get you tested!

Do I need to book an appointment to get tested?

We recommend it! It will allow you to check in and get tested faster than without one. However, you are welcome to walk up to a testing site without an appointment. You can book an appointment here.

Can I get free COVID-19 tests sent to me regularly?

Yes! Our zero-cost-to-patient COVID-19 Subscription Program makes it easy for Californians to get diagnosed and treated for COVID-19 from home. Enrolling is easy! Simply submit your shipping and insurance information to receive a monthly delivery of 8 Covid test kits.  Your insurance will be billed for these tests, resulting in no cost to you.

What is the best COVID-19 test to use to meet COVID-19 travel requirements?

Our Rapid COVID-19 PCR Test is ideal for situations that demand quick results, such as travel requirements, event participation, pre-surgery screening, and rapid response to potential exposures.  However, check to see if there are any special requirements for the country you’re traveling to in order to select the test that’s best for you.

Are all COVID-19 tests covered by insurance?

Insurance companies may reimburse for COVID-19 testing services. It is your responsibility to be aware of any requirements imposed by your insurance company to obtain reimbursement for Covid testing services.  We encourage you to contact your insurance company for additional information prior to receiving testing services if you intend to seek reimbursement for the cost […]

Why does my testing center have “Sameday Health” signage on it?

Sameday Health, acquired by Rume Health in the fall of 2023, is now Sameday Health by Rume!  We’re in the process of changing our signage and updating our messaging. We appreciate your patience as we expand our service offerings and step into the next chapter of our story!

How long does it take to get tested?

Getting tested (especially if you book an appointment) will only take a few minutes. If the location you’re visiting is busy there may be a short wait. Our friendly staff will get to you as quickly as possible.
